Explore the Audiophile Within

Recently a colleague approached us with an idea. Why not channel some of our budding interest in high fidelity audio equipment into a project to keep our skills fresh? As it turned out, the effort fed our audiophile inclinations — and rivaled client work in many respects. Creating “Electric Record Machines” certainly tested our skills and resourcefulness.

The work also raised an interesting question; When do you graduate from being slightly obsessed with audio to a bona-fide audiophile?

Plug It In
The project kicked off with a search for a minimal-look WordPress theme that would allow both paragraphs and images to breathe. The selected theme did require customization to achieve the look we wanted — but we’re fairly practiced in that.

Hit the Power Button
Next, sections were organized and visual elements designed. We employed two unique slideshow solutions, because each was better suited toward its specific role. We implemented both in-studio and Google adsense-linked ads on most pages. Not only did we find that to be a good exercise, but it’s a nice way show clients what’s possible.

Most recently, we connected key social media outlets in order to build and engage the appropriate audience. All content has been fully developed in-house. The project is definitely still beta. But we see increased traffic, searches, and engagement each month. Please take a look if you’re inclined.
